Department of Pharmaceutics


Established in 2007, the Department of Pharmaceutics, with an approved intake of 15 students for the Masters in Pharmacy course, aims to establish a strong integrative and collaborative approach in the field of drug delivery. This helps them encompass several activities in the disciplines of drug formulation and delivery. The Masters in Pharmacy course in Pharmaceutics is a dual year program split into 4 semesters, of which an entire year is committed to research work. Students are expected that their research work comes to fruition by way of publications, dissertations, patents, etc. The Pharmaceutics department has envisaged a few areas of focus in research, namely, pre-formulation, advancement in varied forms of pharmaceutical dosage which comprises of drug delivery systems which are novel and based on nanotechnology.

It is also pertinent to note here that the All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE), based in New Delhi, has accorded grants to the Department of Pharmaceutics under its flag ship schemes such as MODROBS, IIPC, FDP and RPS. In line with the department’s motto of lifelong learning and research, we are proud to inform that both our esteemed staff and students add to our research portfolio by their presence and demonstration in several conferences held in India and abroad.

We would also like to highlight the fact that our entire staff strength is in conformity with guidelines established by the Pharmacy Council of India. In addition to their academic credentials, our staff come with a sizeable number of years of extensive research in the relevant areas. Finally, it is also a matter of great pride for us to inform that our alumni have proved to be the best in the industry as they have been hired by prominent domestic and global pharmaceutical firms.
