WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT CELL  

The formation of Women's Development Cell at GRCP has been in compliance with the guidelines laid down by the Honorable Supreme Court of India. The cell has come into force from 16th August 2013.

The activity of women’s development cell addresses the problems of women employees and attempt to empower women. The Women’s Development Cell of GRCP purports to conduct activities for the students, teachers and administrators/supporting staff of the college.


Objectives

The primary role of WDC is to maintain congenial working environment for the female employees and students of Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Pharmacy, Bachupally, Hyderabad.

    • The WDC will deal with the cases or complaints of any type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
    • The cell shall process all the individual complaints and take suitable action thereon in the manner and mode as per the norms.
    • The cell promotes the wellbeing of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
    • All the WDC members are females.
    • The cell may form/review the guidelines/ policy for the redressal of the grievances as required from time to time, which may be in accordance with those issued by Supreme Court and government agencies.
    • Create awareness on equal opportunity for women that will ultimately lead to improved attitude and behaviour.
    • Provide a harassment free working atmosphere, by identifying and fixing responsibility on the concerned persons for ensuring equal treatment of and participation by women in all areas.
    • Conduct programmes for ladies to empower them financially, emotionally, mentally and physically.
    • Deal appropriately with reported cases of sexual harassment, abuse or discrimination and initiate action against particular grievances in respect of unfair treatment due to gender bias.

    In view of the increasing number of female staff and students in the college, Women's Development Cell was constituted to ensure that the girls students feel at home within the college.

    Programmes and Activities
    In order to achieve the stated goals, the following programmes will be conducted/celebrated.

    • March 8     - Women’s day
    • April 7       - Health day

    Lectures will be organized, as per convenient timings, on adolescent health issues, women professional problems, women’s domestic/personal problems due to work-place pressures and gender discrimination at different levels. Competitions such as quiz, debates and elocution will be held besides activities to ladies such as rangoli, mehendi and cooking, etc.
